New PC games in September 2022 – 15 upcoming releases we’re most excited for
What will we play on our PCs next month?
Not all new PC games coming in September 2022 are AAA titles or long-awaited releases, yet everyone will find something to suit their taste. We will begin the month with a remaster of JoJo's fighting game back from 2013, then move to the world of western animation for a bit.
After that, we will see a range of genres, from sports titles to an (as we hope) epic comeback of classic adventure games with a new entry in the Monkey Island series. Soulslike fans and strategy enthusiasts will also have something to play. Care to see what's to come? Here's the list!
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R - September 2
Stone Ocean will finally continue airing, so the best way to celebrate the return of anime is to play a new title in the crazy JoJo universe. The game is a remastered version of an older installment in the series. As for improvements over the original, it changes the combat tempo. Moreover, it features 50 playable characters from all arcs. Nice!
Disney Dreamlight Valley - September 6
Can a life-sim be exceptional just because it's full of Disney characters? Probably not, although Disney Dreamlight Valley promises an immersing adventure with lots of activities and quests in locations where Disney and Pixar characters lived before the Forgetting happened. It's our job to bring the magic to the Disney world back.
Gloomwood - September 6
This one is probably the most experimental game in the lineup. Gloomwood is a retro-stylized stealth FPS that screams the early 2000s. The grim atmosphere and visuals reminiscent of the good old times may grant the title a loving fanbase – as long as the gameplay turns out to be just as neat.
Steelrising - September 8
Imagine the French Revolution in a steampunk Paris. Surprisingly, that's the setting of this action RPG by Spiders. Help the country escape the grasp of tyrannical Louis XVI as Aegis, a mechanical bodyguard of Marie Antoinette. Long live the revolution!
NBA 2K23 - September 8
The world's greatest basketball simulation returns with a bunch of new moves and game modes that will take the experience to an even higher level. And thanks to Jordan Challenges, you'll follow Michael Jordan's career. See the life of a legend from his early days to the peak of his splendid career!
Metal: Hellsinger - September 15
Remember Brutal Legend? One of the games coming out in September has a similar vibe! Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm FPS where massacring demons in a DOOM-like manner has to be done with finesse. In this case, it means you need to sync with background metal music during gunfights to deal more damage to your enemies. Intriguing if you ask us.
Return to Monkey Island - September 19
We have voiced our worries about the art style of the new Guybrush Threepwood’s journey, yet it’s still an opportunity to go back to this legendary franchise. It definitely didn't lose its unique humor. Have you heard that players will get horse armor as a pre-order bonus? Oblivion fans, does it ring a bell? 😃
Soulstice - September 20
Briar and Lute reincarnated as a "Chimera" – a powerful warrior created by fusing two beings. Now, the sisters are searching for answers about the Order they belong to and themselves. We haven’t seen solid slasher-like combat in a while, so we hope Soulstice will provide us with satisfying gameplay complemented by a rich, dark story.
The DioField Chronicle - September 22
The DioField Chronicle will be one of several upcoming Square Enix strategy titles this year. Gamers are right to be excited about this particular one, judging from the unique mix of genres. After all, mixing real-time strategy gameplay with the JRPG spirit might result in one of the most creative PC games coming in September 2022 😊
Serial Cleaners - September 22
Committing crimes is not good, but you should at least clean up the mess, right? We just described the rather grotesque premise of this top-down stealth game about four professional "cleaners". All blood traces and bodies need to vanish from the crime scene before the cops arrive. Each character has exclusive abilities that will let you approach the task at hand however you please, as long as it’s effective.
Slime Rancher 2 - September 22 (Included with PC Game Pass from Day One)
The first Slime Rancher did really well. Hence, there's the sequel. Similarly to its predecessor, it lets you experience a life of a rancher who breeds cute slime creatures instead of regular animals. Of course, there are lots of these gooey creatures to catch. Well, see you on Rainbow Island!
Slime Rancher 2 will be available on Game Pass at release. For now, you can join the subscription to play the franchise's first entry alongside hundreds of other fantastic PC games in the library. Become a new member for only a dollar!

Potion Permit - September 22
In this sim RPG, you'll take on a role of a chemist who is not only tasked with searching for a cure for the daughter of the town's mayor but also taking care of residents. To heal, you need ingredients for medicine, so you'll explore the world in search of them, which sometimes leads to fights with monsters. And of course, in your free time, you can befriend the inhabitants of Moonbury.
Deliver Us Mars - September 27
The game's a sequel to the acclaimed Deliver Us The Moon and lets you immerse in an atmospheric adventure where you have to recover stolen ARK colony ships. It offers not only an engaging story but also breathtaking graphics and beautiful music. It's definitely a must-buy for sci-fi lovers.
Moonscars - September 27 (Included with PC Game Pass from Day One)
If soulslike games are your thing, you can't overlook Moonscars. It's another title that will put your combat skills to the test in the unforgiving mysterious world full of dangers. However, your death will shape you, allowing you to become the master warrior you are destined to be.
FIFA 23 - September 30
The last title on our list will delight the fans of digital football. FIFA 23 builds upon other installments of the renowned series, providing an ultimate experience. You can even play women's club teams for the first time in history, which is a nice addition to the ever-improving formula of the game.
Games leaving Early Access
In September, we'll also see some games leaving Early Access. We'll have adorable life sims Ooblets and Hokko Life, intriguing survival-adventure Grounded and immersive Session: Skate Sim. They surely will make the following month even more exciting.
There are solid upcoming games, don't you think? Do you intend to play any of these? Feel free to leave a comment below!
